Evie is a contemporary dancer and choreographer with a wealth of experience on stage and screen. Her freelance performance work includes ongoing contracts with Opera Australia alongside music videos with notable Australian artists and film work as a choreographer and director. Her work now centres around education, with a Bachelor of Dance, certification in Pilates instruction and current pursuit of a Masters in Arts Education focussing on Higher Education and pre-professional training. Evie teaches at many Higher Education institutions across Sydney, including Brent St, Ev & Bow, and AMPA, working with pre-professional dancers on honing their contemporary technique and artistry. Contemporary classes with Evie focus on form and flow, with a strong connection between biomechanics for efficient movement and improved structures to support artistic explorations and identity. Foundations and technique will play an important role in developing unique dance languages and integrating new skills into individual bodies. Learners can expect their strength, endurance and off-centre movement to be challenged in an encouraging environment made to prepare artists for the industry ahead of them.
