Ausdance Industry Week is a youth dance intensive developed for early career artists to access affordable and early career advice connecting with industry leading choreographers and professionals. Industry week provides tools to guide early career dance artists into a new chapter of their practice and embark on a new experience to inspire their career pathways.
This week long intensive will include industry sessions covering: Project development, career management and support daily technique classes and creative development and choreographic processes by leading artists from around Australia. Concluding the week there will be a performance outcome by participants to showcase the week’s creations.

CONTEMPORARY STREAM

CHOREOGRAPHER- BILLY KEOHAVONG
Billy Keohavong is a first-generation Laotian-Australian artist based in Eora (Sydney). He is a scholarship recipient of both ‘New Zealand School of Dance’ and ‘Ev & Bow Full-Time Training Centre’. Billy is a movement coach and specialist focusing on a movement language that encapsulates Meditation, Easter Dance Practices, Character work and Sensorial work.
His experience extend to international borders where he worked as a full-time artists with ‘The Human Expressions Dance Company’ (Singapore). He has performed extensively within festivals like: Florence Dance Festival (Italy), Fukuoka Fringe Dance Festival (Japan) and Daegu Dance Festival (South Korea). Billy has also worked with highly acclaimed choreographers such as: Kuik See Boom, Kim Jaeduk, Ross McCormack, Sue Healy, Martin Del Amy, Meryl Tankard and Dimo Kirilov.
Outside of all this Billy is also part of the Australian Ballroom (Vogue) community and is a member of ‘The House of IMAN’ based in Aotearoa (New Zealand). He is the current Father of the Sydney Chapter.
TEACHER- JASMIN LUNA
Jasmin is an Australian based, freelance, movement artist. She has performed in Meryl Tankard’s ‘Kairos’ at Sydney Festival, Opera Australia’s ‘Carmen’ on Cockatoo island, ‘Bat Lake’ by Eliza Cooper, Kate Dunn’s ‘Habitat’ at Manly Gallery’s Seaweed Festival, Lewis Major’s ‘Platypus’ at the State Theatre Centre of WA, Austinmer Dance Theatre’s ‘But Why’ at Sydney/Melbourne Fringe Festival, The Royal Opera House of Muscat’s ‘Lakme’, Opera Australia’s ‘Attila’, ‘Anna Bolena’ and ‘Aida’ at the Sydney Opera House and The Dream Dance Company’s ‘Enter The Vortex’. Jasmin trained at Ev & Bow Full time Dance Training Centre and at The Sydney Dance Company Pre Professional Year graduating in 2016.

AIMEE WHITTAKER
Aimee is the founder of Dance + Australia a website dedicated to strengthening the way the Dance Industry connects & grows. Her program ‘Design Your Career’ aims to support performers who are starting their career in the entertainment industry.
Early in her career Aimee was a Choreography Assistant to Sarah Boulter on hit TV show ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ Australia & UK. She also performed in ‘My Mutation’ choreographed by Kelley Abbey, and for; Sydney Comedy Festival, Jean Paul Gaultier, Sony, and P&O Cruises.
Aimee’s was a company member of Contemporary company ‘YouMove’ directed by Kay Armstrong, performing works by Australian Contemporary choreographers including Anton.
Aimee has been a company member of Dance and Comedy group Phly Crew for over a decade. Aimee has been a featured performer in Phly Crew’s theatre shows & was a part of the group who earnt a place in the International finals of ‘World of Dance’ in LA & the Grand Final of ‘Australia’s Got Talent’.
Aimee is a very passionate teacher who is dedicated to not only teaching the next generation of dancers but also the next generation of teachers holding a RAD RTS, Advanced Diploma of Dance, Diploma in Dance Teaching & Management, TAE qualification & Pilates instructor certificates.
Aimee continues to explore different opportunities within the dance industry to grow as a performer & teacher. She finds the most satisfaction in being able to make her audience & students feel the same amount of joy in dance as she does.

Dylan Bull is a professional dancer, teacher, and choreographer based in Sydney Australia. Completing his Diploma of Dance at Brent Street in 2020, Dylan has toured around Australia with shows and danced for huge names such as sneaky sound system, flight facilities, and John Paul young. Along with competing and placing in major hip-hop battles with multiple hip-hop Crews, Dylan has worked in contemporary and commercial productions with Opera Australia and Giant Panda King productions.
