Ausdance NSW Pre-Election Policy Advocacy Campaign
The NSW state election will be held Saturday 25 March 2023, and as such, we are preparing a campaign to advocate for policy and social settings that benefit dance in the state, now and in the future.
Ausdance NSW are preparing a formal submission of dance policy recommendations which will be presented to the parties running in the 2023 NSW state election. In order to generate broader impact the voice our members and our community is essential as we develop the submission.
We invite you to participate in the process by attending a consultation session or submitting written responses.
The outcome from these consultations will guide our initial discussion with the elected political party and their Ministers. As the recognised peak body for dance in NSW, supported as the sector’s service body through Create NSW, Ausdance NSW will proudly be the forefront of these early discussions.
Our consultation sessions will be held:
Tuesday 6 December 10am
Tuesday 6 December 5pm
Your consultation and contribution to provide valuable insight on the priority areas is incredibly valuable as this will help determine what policies could look like and contribute to the development of new ideas.
Ausdance NSW have prepared a draft template letter that can assist you to send to the sitting member or any candidate in your electorate. The letter outlines some advocacy points from Ausdance NSW’s direct communications to party officials. We encourage you to use this letter as inspiration or to customise your own. It is important to reach out to all candidates that you are interested in and ask them how they will support you, dance and arts in your area.
We are not asking you to vote for any party or candidate. We encourage you to make an informed vote, and we hope you will consider the interests of dancers and the dance sector in your choices.
We encourage you to take some time to carefully download and read this document with background information and prompt questions to then contact us with your thoughts and suggestions via email to email@example.com.
If you require the documents in another formation please do not hesitate to contact us.
