Ausdance NSW and Ausdance Victoria continue to work closely together for the benefit of our members and the broader dance sector and wider communities of NSW and Victoria. Michelle Silby continues her role as Executive Director of both states. We continue to focus on growing pathways and opportunities for artists across the two states and broadening our reach and increasing depth of engagement. We ran a varied program of professional development, activities, and events while planning for projects happening in 2019 & 2020.
We are proud to partner with the Ausdance network constituent state organisations - Ausdance ACT, Ausdance NSW, Ausdance QLD, Ausdance SA, Ausdance VIC and Ausdance WA we work on key areas and programs of national importance. Collectively, we provide leadership for a strong and unified voice for dance on a national level.
Each Ausdance state organisation has a strong membership base and provide a range of services for the industry, including successful and sustainable programs of events, research, and advocacy. State programs range from Education (VET-VCE dance in Victoria), Professional development for teachers (VIC, WA, ACT, QLD, SA), Dance Festivals (Australian Youth Dance Festival VIC, Youth Dance Fest ACT), large scale community dance events (Big Dance VIC, NSW, QLD, NT, SA), artist residency programs (NSW, VIC, WA, QLD) and the Australian Dance Awards (NSW, VIC,WA, QLD).
