The Ausdance team are available for Zoom meetings regarding your funding applications. 

We are here to help you through our member’s Auspicing program. Auspicing is a service provided to members of Ausdance NSW. It is the management of grant funds for individuals/organisations that are not incorporated associations or that have very limited infrastructure. Auspicing by Ausdance NSW means that your grant funds are managed on your behalf, and reported on to the funding body at the end of (and occasionally during) the funding period.

We will also be assisting members with their COVID-19 support funding applications; writing tips, budget, advice on project deliverables, support letter and marketing support.

    AUSTRALIA COUNCIL FOR THE ARTS - 2020 RESILIENCE FUND - NOW CLOSED

    The 2020 Resilience Fund is designed to provide emergency relief to support the livelihoods, practice, and operations of Australian artists, groups, and organisations during the COVID-19 pandemic. This funding can be combined with relief offered by other arts funding agencies, government departments, support services, and philanthropy.

    Australia Council have developed this program using input and ideas from the arts sector. We gathered this input through various sector roundtables and discussions, feedback and ideas provided to us by artists and organisations we fund and people who have participated in our sector development programs.

    There are 3 categories:

    Survive: Small grants for individuals, groups, and organisations to offset or recoup money lost due to cancelled activity.

    Adapt: Grants for individuals, groups, and organisations to adapt their arts practice and explore new ways of working.

    Create: Grants for individuals, groups, and organisations to continue to create artistic work and/or develop creative responses in this time of disruption.

    The Rescue and Restart package is intended to support arts and cultural organisations across NSW.

    The NSW Government recognises the important contribution the arts and cultural sector makes to the NSW economy, as well as to the community’s wellbeing, particularly during challenging times.

    The Rescue and Restart package will be delivered in two stages:

    • Funding available now to enable NSW not-for-profit arts and cultural organisations to hibernate temporarily.
    • Funding available in the coming months to enable NSW not-for-profit arts and cultural organisations to restart operations after the COVID-19 pandemic.

    Funding will be available to NSW not-for-profit arts and cultural organisations across the State on a case by case basis.

    The Rescue and Restart package is designed to assist NSW arts and cultural organisations to hibernate now, so they are in a position to restart operations when health guidelines permit.

    FUNDING: AUSTRALIA COUNCIL FOR THE ARTS - COMMUNIQUE: DIRECT INVESTMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

    1 July 2020

    The Australia Council is announcing details of its investment opportunities for individuals and organisations

    The following opportunities will be available for individuals and organisations:

    • Arts Projects for Individuals & Groups 
    • Arts Projects for Organisations     
    • Australia Council Fellowships & Awards 
    • National Arts & Disability Awards 

    Applications for these opportunities will open on Friday 10 July and close on Tuesday 1 September. Program guidelines and criteria will be available on Council’s website.

    Projects that have been previously eligible via the Career Development for Individuals & Groups category will now be eligible for support under the Arts Projects for Individuals & Groups category. 

    The following opportunities will be available for First Nations individuals, groups and organisations: 

    • Cherish II 

    Applications for this opportunity will open Monday 3 August and close on Tuesday 6 October. Program guidelines and criteria will be available on Council’s website.

    • Dreaming Award for an emerging artist
    • Red Ochre Awards for outstanding lifetime achievement
    • Workplace Giving Emerging First Nations Career Development Award

    Applications for these opportunities will open Tuesday 1 September and close on Tuesday 1 December. Program guidelines and criteria will be available on Council’s website.

    CREATIVE CARING SENIORS DANCE CLASS

    You can now join in a Creative Caring seniors dance class with Diane from anywhere in the world on our new dance floor – Zoom!  Safe and fun dance moves that can be done in your own home.
    Classes are held every Wednesday and are only $10 per class.​

    What you will need:
    – A safe space to dance without trip hazards such as rugs, plugs, spillages or pets.
    – A clear view of the monitor.
    – Comfortable clothing.
    – A water bottle.

    By participating in this class, you assume all risks of injury as a result of engaging in any dance activity. Creative Caring staff will remind you of safety issues throughout the class, including taking breaks and rests when needed.

    CREATE NSW - SMALL PROJECT GRANTS (QUICK RESPONSE) GUIDELINES

    Updated Wednesday 1 July 2020.

    As relevant updates are provided by the NSW Government, Create NSW’s Small Project Grants (Quick Response) program will be redefined to address the public health orders.

    The grant aims to:

    • enable professional artists and arts and cultural workers to participate in outstanding time-sensitive opportunities, including those offered via online and other means than in-person contact
    • build the capacity and skills of professional artists and arts and cultural workers including, but not limited to, online mentoring, development and residency opportunities
    • support professional artists and arts and cultural workers to develop new projects/work
    • support professional artists to explore the possibilities of presenting work in ways that is consistent with public health orders
    • support professional artists to respond to the impacts of the 2019 bushfire season and COVID-19 crises, for local communities, in supportive and creative ways
    • strengthen the capacity of NSW-based professional artists and arts and cultural workers to become arts and cultural leaders.

    To apply for funding you will need to complete and submit the relevant application form through our secure online grants system, SmartyGrants.

    Please note that your project start date must be at least three weeks after the date you submit your application.

    City of Sydney Festivals and Events Sponsorship Program: Round 2 closes 20 July 2020. Funding is available for a 1-year program or a program of up to 3 years. New village and community festivals and events can apply for up to $30,000. Apply here>>>

    Festivals Australia: Round 4 closes 30 September 2020, apply for $5,000 – $100,000. Funds high-quality arts and cultural heritage projects that invite community participation and audience engagement. Apply here>>>

    Australia Post Community Grants Program: Closes 17 July 2020, apply for up to $10,000. Supports communities groups focusing on mental health and wellbeing. Apply here>>>

    Country Arts Support Program: Closes 31 July 2020, apply for either $3,000 or $5,000 (depending on region). Supports community arts and cultural development in regional NSW, primarily for professional artists’ fees, travel, and accommodation. Apply here>>>

    The Ian Potter Cultural Trust Grants: Round 3 closes 8 September 2020, apply for up to $10,000. Assists emerging and early career artists of exceptional talent to take up professional development opportunities, usually overseas. Apply here>>>

    Community Support Program, Hunter region: Round 2 closes 30 September, apply for $1,000 – $10,000. Caters for Hunter region community organisations looking for funding assistance with an event, small project, or purchase of equipment. Apply here>>>

    City of Sydney COVID-19 Relief Grants – Quick Response Grants: These are rolling grants – with no application deadline. Applications must demonstrate the project’s benefits to the City of Sydney local community and be for $2,000 – $5,000. Apply here>>>

    Indigenous Languages and Arts Program Grants: Round 2 closes 18 December 2020, apply for up to $100,000. Supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to express, preserve, and maintain their cultures through languages and arts activities around Australia. Apply here>>>

    Creative Kids Digital Small Business Grant Program: Closes 6 November 2020, apply for up to $5,000. Supports small businesses or non-profit organisations that are Creative Kids Providers and directly affected by the COVID-19 emergency. Apply here>>>

    Bushfire Assistance: Closes 31 December 2020, apply for $20,000 – $50,000. Supports eligible charities and local community organisations with projects that will aid in long-term recovery efforts for bushfire-affected communities that focus on assisting children and young people. Apply here>>>

    City of Parramatta’s Quarterly Grants: Always open, apply for up to $2,000. Supports local not-for-profit community, recreation, and sporting groups, clubs, organisations, services, and social enterprises. Apply here>>>

    Regional Arts NSW – Quick Response Grants: Always open, apply for up to $1,500. For regional artists, arts organisations and communities to respond to unique arts opportunities that present themselves at very short notice and could not be planned for. Apply here>>>

    QUICK RESPONSE

    To help individuals and organisations through the COVID-19 pandemic, we’re releasing an extra $500,000 in quick response grants. These are rolling grants – there is no application deadline.

    Who can apply: Individuals, sole traders, unincorporated community groups, not-for-profit organisations, and for-profit organisations.

    What grants can pay for: Programs to help communities adapt, survive and recover from the pandemic.

    How much you can apply for: Between $2,000 and $5,00

    These grants will help sole traders and not-for-profit arts enterprises with less than 20 full-time employees, who’ve lost income due to Covid-19. For more information here>>>

    Create NSW is here to help you. The Arts Funding team can assist with your individual concerns and provide support to vary your funding agreement. This may include:

    • Removing requirements to meet audience KPIs
    • Varying the purpose and outcomes of funding
    • Extending timelines for projects
    • Allowing grants to be repurposed to pay essential bills such as rent, wages or utilities

    In addition, Create NSW are willing to delay reporting requirements such as acquittals.

She is reaching out to organisations with high financial risk but is also available to discuss any concerns that you may have.     STIMULUS PACKAGE

    Please see below more detail around the Jobkeeper Payment from Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash, the Minister for Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business:

    • The JobKeeper Payment will start on 30 March 2020, with the first payment to be received by employers in the first week of May. Employers must pass this payment on to their employees.
    • Eligible employers include businesses structured through companies, partnerships, trusts and sole traders. Not-for-profit entities, including charities, will also be eligible.
    • Self-employed individuals are also eligible to receive the JobKeeper Payment.
    • Employers must elect to participate in the scheme. You can do this at https://www.ato.gov.au/general/gen/JobKeeper-payment/
    • To be eligible, an employee must have been on the employer’s books on 1 March 2020.
    • The JobKeeper Payment is open to full-time, part-time and long-term casuals (employed on a regular basis for at least the previous 12 months) and stood down employees. Employees that are re-engaged by a business that was their employer on 1 March 2020 will also be eligible. 
    • Self-employed individuals will be eligible to receive the JobKeeper Payment where they have suffered or expect to suffer a 30% decline in turnover relative to a comparable prior period (of at least a month).

    Employers will be eligible for the JobKeeper Payment where the following criteria is satisfied:

    • For business’s with turnover of less than $1 billion, there has been a reduction of more than 30 per cent in turnover relative to the comparable prior period (of at least a month); or
    • For business’s with turnover of more than $1 billion, there has been a reduction of more than 50 percent in turnover relative to the comparable prior period (of at least a month); and

    THE CITY OF SYDNEY

    COMMUNITY SERVICES GRANTS:

    To help organisations through the COVID-19 pandemic, we’re releasing an extra $1.5 million in community services grants. These grants are to help provide food, digital assistance and social connection to vulnerable people.

    Who can apply:  Not-for-profit organisations and social enterprises or an individual or group auspiced by an organisation in our area.

    What the funds can be used for: Operating model change; Digital; Supporting community-led mutual aid activities.

    How much you can apply for: Between $5,000 and $50,000.
